Despite its immense popularity, the Android platform has major limitations when it comes to running several apps visually in parallel. Ixonos took on the challenge and designed a multitasking solution that delivers visual content to not just one but two different displays: something never before seen in the Android universe.
Based on our deep understanding of the Android software, we have created a new form of multitasking UI for dual-screen tablets, thus taking multitasking use cases even further. Designed on Android, our multitasking solution allows apps to continue running without suspending them as new apps are activated. This means the user can have a video playing in one screen while composing messages, interacting with social networks or browsing the web on the other.
Thanks to our multitasking UI, a dual-screen device can be used in various ways. The user can have one or more applications on each screen or expand one activity across both screens. Arranging the different applications on the two screens is easy. Flipping the device horizontally, the user can work on the dual-screen device as on a laptop with one or more activity windows on the top screen and a touchpad qwerty keyboard on the screen below.
The beauty of our multitasking UI Solution is that we made it very easy for device manufactures to employ on any dual-screen device running on Android. A truly smart tablet device that is adaptable to all manner of multitasking use cases takes use efficiency to new heights.
