A globally operating customer wanted to produce a new kind of terminal device for wireless authority networks. They turned to Ixonos for a project delivery with total responsibility. BACKGROUND
An internationally operating mobile device manufacturer wanted to fulfill evolving market requirements and start developing a radio device for mobile networks based on a brand new concept. The new concept required significant changes to hardware and totally different software platform. The device was intended for demanding authority use, wherefore high trustworthiness and reliability were top requirements. Due to the tight requirements, the customer wanted to concentrate on its own production expertise, and turned to Ixonos for the design and development of the mobile device. Ixonos’ experienced project management team took total responsibility for the project. The project management worked in tight co-operation with software developers, hardware designers, initial testers and customer’s production team.
SOLUTION
Ixonos participated in the project already in the concept creation phase by providing the customer with indepth knowledge of software platforms and software-hardware interactions. After the initial phase, Ixonos took on all the responsibilities of the terminal’s software development from initial requirement specification to planning the software, hardware and mechanics. Ixonos’ project management worked in close co-operation with the customer’s production services and carefully selected external hardware design teams in order to assure that all the different parties were working towards the same goals within the set schedule. Because of the high requirements for the product, Ixonos carried out extensive system and type approval testing before the product was set to be manufactured.
