Ixonos renewed the ministerial information system of the Prime Minister’s Office

The modernized ministerial information system Ixonos has implemented for the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland was introduced this autumn. The system contains information on all Governments, ministers, State Secretaries and Advisers who have served after Finland gained its independence. It is used and maintained by the Government Communications Unit and the Government Session Unit.

The Government website also includes the “Cabinets and ministers since 1917″ service, which allows media, citizens and other interested parties to access information in the system. They can search for Finnish Governments and ministers e.g. according to term of office, political party, gender and name. The modernized website also provides essential information in English and Swedish.

“The ministerial information system plays an important part e.g. during changes of government, when exact figures on each minister’s number of days in office are needed. The revised information system is easier to use than its predecessors were, and it offers versatile reporting”, explains Olli Haapa-aho, Chief Communications Specialist in the Government Communications Unit.

Through competitive bidding, Ixonos was chosen to implement the system. Eleven vendors had submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office tenders for the project. In addition to having delivered the system, Ixonos also hosts it. Ixonos has previously carried out the technical implementation of the Prime Minister’s Office website as well as of the Finnish Government’s website and media service.
